MDS Wedding Page

WOW. I'm SO embarrassed. First, let me state the fact that I'm a researcher. I try to know the in's and out's of everything I'm involved in so I'm not surprised by something stupid.

Well, guess what? This week (yesterday, actually) I was surprised by something stupid and I'm so embarrassed I don't want to tell you about it. But I'll suck it up, put my big girl panties on and do it.

This week's MDS Blog Hop theme was to use the MDS retiring content discs to make our projects. Easy enough, right? So when I got the email asking if I was in for this week I answered "Of course!"

So last night (nothing better than last minute, right?) I get on the retiring page to see which discs I can use and I HAVE NONE OF THEM! What ARE those discs and where on earth did they come from? So I whip out my old catalog and go over it, and through it, and over it again. Well, sure enough, there they are. Right on one of the first pages of the catalog. And through the entire year of the catalog I never knew they were in there. WOW. Do I feel like an idiot. Especially since I'm a My Digital Studio Certified demo! So after thinking I could follow theme this week, I find out that I'm sadly (and embarrassingly) mistaken. I did a page, but its very simple and I wasn't able to use any of the content from the discs.

Had I actually known about them before-hand, I would have had them all - there is so much STUFF on them!!! So don't miss your chance to get them while you can (I know I will be!) - you only have a few more days until they're gone forever! Here's the link to them - My Digital Studio Retiring Content Discs

Now I bet my other blog hop buddies knew about these discs ahead of time and have something fabulous made with them, so go check them out! Links are below. :)

High Hopes

I had such high hopes for today's MDS blog hop! I had the perfect vacation to do. But this week is our second to last week of school and being a teacher, it was just too much for me to handle. Next year I'll plan better! Be sure to continue on the hop, since I'm at the end just click on #1 (Jeanna) and continue down the list from there. I hope you have a WONDERFUL weekend!

MDS Blog Hop - Another Sketch!

I believe this is the last sketch for a few weeks, but wow - these sketches have been FUN!

On this one I used the soon-to-be-new Summer Smooches set and a LOT of punches, from the big circle to the banners and the scalloped border punch. I decided to use one photo on here instead of two, but I think it still works.

I've been under the weather this week but have been working hard on getting better. Hard to do the last month of school where everything is so busy, busy, busy!

Hope you have a calm but good weekend and don't forget to check out the other mega-talented ladies on the My Digital Studio blog hop!

MDS Blog Hop - Sketch!

It's that time of the week again - the My Digital Studio Blog Hop day! This week Terri chose another sketch for us, and again I love it! But the last few sketches we've done I've done scrapbook pages with them (yes, that's what I they are usually intended for!). But today I'm not feeling well and my brain has taken a holiday.

In my brain-fogged haze I decided to make the sketch into a card. I'm so glad I did, I love how it turned out! Definitely going to print out some of these to give out to students next school year!

For this card I used the Day in the Life kit for the banners, textured Crumb Cake cardstock for the background and my favorite, the First Edition digital Designer Series Paper. For stamps I used the Friend by Definition stamp on the background (changed to Very Vanilla and turned the opacity WAY down), and the "You Are Crazy Awesome" is from the Fantabulous You digital stamp set. I would LOVE if this set were to come out as a real rubber stamp - a girl can dream, right?

I also a box of sneak peek items from the new catalog today so I hope to post some sneak peek samples using the new items this weekend. So check back!

Now hurry and check out the fabulous takes on this sketch from the other blog-hoppers! I'm sure they'll be crazy awesome! :)
